History

Since the firm's founding 6 years ago, JP MAGSON has and continues to pride itself on the core values of professionalism & competence, integrity, personal responsibility and accountability, mutual support (Teamwork and dedication), independence, confidentiality, strong client relationships and quality and justifiable practices. These values have proved critical to our continued growth and success in the market place.

JP MAGSON was founded as a sole proprietorship by Musabe James Magson in Kampala Uganda in the first quarter of 2007 and all legal registration procedures were completed on the 14th March 2007. In 2009, he was joined by Joel Kale Byaruhanga as the second partner and the firm’s status changed from a sole proprietorship to a partnership but trading under the same names and thus seized the opportunity to provide comprehensive client service. The firm also has Mr. Mwesige Patrick as Associate Partner for peer review as appropriate.

As Joel moved on to concentrate on his other business, Mr. Edward Lukwago joined the firm on the 06th of March 2012 and Mr. James Owor Obel joined on the 16th July 2012 all at partnership level. The partners increased on the pool of expertise and the way in which our partners can now support each other and the entire professional team to ensure appropriate client service delivery.
Since then the firm has continued to grow, becoming a truly national firm.

In 2011, JP Magson applied to join DFK International and after a thorough review of the quality of work and our internal firm procedures by the DFK International review team; the firm was admitted to join DFK International as a Correspondent Member firm.
